IN PILANESBERG NATIONAL PARK

Some 10 years ago, we at SPOTS came to the realization that without leading-edge technology and systems, we would not win in our fight against the poaching of our precious wildlife.

In particular, our experience here in South Africa as well as the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania had shown us that we had to own the night and the heights. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle technology offered us the promise of doing so.

A worldwide evaluation of available technology at that time, led us to rather develop our own. Our SPOTS Air Ranger was thus born.

Over the years, it has enjoyed ongoing research and development, whilst also proving to be hugely successful operationally. The Air Ranger UAV is arguably the best anti-poaching aerial platform available today.

What we have also learned over the years, is that the best technology does not achieve success if it is not supported and guided by sound anti-poaching strategy and operational planning.

Today SPOTS has Project Air Ranger - an integration of technology, strategic planning, human intelligence, military experience and operational capability.
